The Hard Thing About Hard Things

This post is not about Ben Horowitz's book, though the book does deserve a post of its own. This post is about the Bhagvat Gita, more secpifically Chapter 2 of the Gita.

The Gita is the essence of the Upanishads - ancient Indian scriptures that date as far back as 5000 years. Some call the Gita - The Song of Pure Consciousness, some the Milk and Essence of the Vedanta.

Context for Kings:

The text is structured as a dialogue spanning 18 chapters and 700 verses between Krisna (the intellect) and Arjun (the emotional mind).

The setting is that Gita - this dialogue between Krishna and Arjun takes place at the battle ground of Kurukshetra as a part of the Epic Mahabharata. For Context the Mahabharata is an Epic text composing of over 10,000 verse - longer than the Illiad and Homers Odyssey combined.
